TARA EARRINGS
- 15/0 seed beads Miyuki "Metallic Brown Iris" (458)
- 11/0 seed beads Toho "Metallic Bronze Iris" (83)
- 8/0 seed beads Toho "Metallic Bronze Iris" (83)
- 6mm 2-hole cabochons "Jet Valentinite Full"
- Crescent beads "Metallic Suede Gold"
I blogged about this bracelet before, HERE. Because of the unusual bead colors, I wanted to make some earrings to go with it. The "Tara Earrings" pattern was a good choice because it calls for 2-Hole Cabochons too. It doesn't have any SuperDuos but I think these Crescent beads go pretty well with the over all color scheme of the bracelet.
You may be wondering why I used Miyuki 15/0 seed beads with Toho 11/0 and 8/0 beads in the same color. I tried 15/0 Toho beads first but the netting came out a mess so I took the earring apart and re-made it using Miyuki beads instead. As a rule, I avoid using 15/0 Toho seed beads whenever possible because they're very poorly shaped. They are fine as filler beads when you only need one or two between some other beads, but they're horrible for strings of netting.
You can buy Ella's "Tara Earrings" pattern HERE and you can buy Samantha Wescott's "Demoiselle Bracelet" pattern in her Etsy shop HERE.
