BLUEBELL BRACELET
- 11/0 seed beads Toho "Metallic Bronze Antique Gold" (225)
- 8/0 seed beads Toho "Metallic Bronze Antique Gold" (225)
- DiamonDuo beads "Chalk Lumi Green"
- SuperDuo beads "Opaque Purple"
- O-Beads "Opaque Blue Luster" (about 4.5 grams)
This is the second pattern based on one of the bracelets that Teejay sent me for my birthday. You can read my post about the bracelet from Teejay HERE. "Bluebell" is really just a variation of the "Ivy Bracelet" pattern but I went ahead and made it a separate free pattern because the instructions and diagrams are a little different.
UPDATE: I've added a notation to the supply list showing approximately how many grams of O-Beads you'll need to make the bracelet.
I had hoped to have more example bracelets to show you but I was busy this past week working on a beadwork order. I've got a few colorways that I want to try with "Bluebell" and "Ivy" and will blog about them as soon as I can make them and take the photos. I made a really pretty one last night and I'll try to take the photos later today.
Here is the "Bluebell Bracelet" that Teejay sent me for my birthday:

ReplyDeleteHola Gigi. No sé lo que hace que el mensaje que ha llegado pero no eres la primera persona que me lo diga. El enlace al archivo PDF está trabajando.
DeleteWhat are O beads?
ReplyDeleteThey look like tiny washers but they're made of glass and are much prettier. Read THIS post where I have a picture of some O-Beads as well as lots of links to where you can buy them.
DeleteThere's the list of materials needed, but it doesn't say how much of each we'll need. Can you add that to the pattern, please? Thank you.
ReplyDeleteI don't post that information because the amounts are going to vary depending on the bracelet size and it would be too much work to weigh or count out seed beads and that sort of thing. Most of the bracelets in my photos fit a 5 1/2 to 6 inch wrist. You can see all of the beads in the photos where the bracelets are stretched out flat. Just count the beads in the photo and add enough for however many more motifs you think you might need.
DeleteI just happened to have my copy of Bluebell handy and I see that I jotted down some of the bead amounts on the pattern. Here is what I have for a 6-inch wrist size:
Delete16 DiamonDuos
38 SuperDuos
128 O-Beads (about 4.5 grams)
3 yards of thread
I don't have the amounts for the 11/0 seed beads but you'll need two 8/0 beads for the ends. I had also noted that I needed 20 DiamonDuos to fit my sister-in-law's 7 1/2-inch wrist size. I don't have the counts for the other beads for that size.
I would love to have pattern. I cannot get the link to open. Any suggestions
DeleteThe link is working, Vickie. It might take a few seconds for the download dialog to open. If you're trying to download from a phone or tablet, you may need to do it from a computer instead.
Deleteit is a beautiful design. I love the new beads and hope it will be easy to get them
ReplyDeleteI love your pattern. I add a few changes to the pattern. How can I show you the changes?
ReplyDeleteThanks
LD
Hi Lee. You can send me a message using the email form on the right and I will reply to your message. Once you get my email, you can reply to mine and attach your photo.
DeleteAmazing!!
ReplyDeleteLovely bracelet! I love your instructions and will give this a try soon. I saw someone else's bracelet for sale on Etsy and was able to recreate it but I made mine differently. Your instructions make more sense! Keep up with the beautiful work. I love finding me things to make!
ReplyDeleteI am making this bracelet as we speaking and I am LOVING this pattern! Thank you so much!
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome, Myrna. Thanks for your nice comments.
DeleteWhat size are the o beads?
ReplyDeleteI really love your work!!!
Thank you Becka. As far as I know O-Beads only come in one size. I looked them up and they're 3.8x1mm.
DeleteI love this bracelet. Thank you for the pattern. Do you have a pattern for earrings to go with the bracelet?
ReplyDeleteHi. I haven't made matching earrings because the design of the bracelet isn't really suitable for earrings. What I usually do is look for an earring pattern that calls for most, if not all, of the kinds of beads that are in the bracelet and just match the earrings by bead type and color rather than the exact style.
DeleteDo you think it would work well using all superduos? I don't currently have any Diamond Duos :(
ReplyDeleteSuperduos would be much too small.
DeleteAre o-beads the same as demi beads? I've seen the demi beads in both 11o and 8o.
ReplyDeleteThey are not the same size and they aren't interchangeable.
DeleteCan I substitute seed beads for the Toho’s?
ReplyDeleteDo you mean can you use Miyuki seed beads instead of Toho beads? If so, the answer is "yes" you can.
