This one is another creation by my friend, Teejay. I think I detect some similarities to "Lovely Lace Bracelet".

Birthday Bracelet #4 - Round Lace Adaptation

  • 15/0 seed beads Toho "Bronze" (223)
  • 11/0 seed beads Matsuno "Copper" (457A)
  • SuperDuo beads "Stone Green Luster"
  • 3mm round beads "Amazonite" (Beads One - not available online)

This is another pattern by Sandra Halpenny. "Round Lace Bracelet" is a free pattern which you can find HERE. Teejay added some embellishments to this one. She filled some of the holes in the "lace" with SuperDuo beads and druks.

I've got one more "birthday" bracelet to post tomorrow and then it might be a while before I post again. I haven't been able to do any beading in about three weeks so I'll need some time to catch up. I don't have a good place to do my beading at the moment but I'm hoping to set up a beading studio soon in our son's old bedroom. For now I have to store my beading supplies in the closet and that makes choosing my beads very challenging.

Teejay sent me the first draft of her Silky bead bracelet pattern and I'm hoping to have a chance to try it out today. So far the pattern doesn't have a name yet but she made some really nice illustrations.

Once again, Teejay used a pattern by Sandra Halpenny. This is Sandra's free "Dime Store Bracelet" pattern which you can find HERE.

  • SuperDuo beads "Opaque Grey Travertin"

Birthday Bracelet #3 - Oval Pearl Bracelet adaptation

  • 15/0 seed beads Miyuki "Dark Bronze" (457D)
  • 11/0 seed beads Miyuki "Dark Bronze" (457D)
  • 3x7mm crystals (no info available)
  • 3mm druks "Gold and Smoky Topaz Luster"

Teejay tweaked Sandra Halpenny's "Oval Pearl Bracelet" pattern to fit some oblong crystals that she had. The original pattern calls for 11/0 seed beads but Teejay used 15/0 beads instead. I haven't tried the pattern with 11/0 seed beads yet but I really like how it looks with smaller beads.

You can buy the bracelet pattern HERE.

  • 11/0 seed beads Matsuno "Copper" (457A)
  • Silky beads "Alabaster Lila Vega"

I love Teejay's clever use of the Silky beads. I've never seen them used that way before. I'm hoping that she will send me the instructions for making this bracelet.

Birthday Present - Sweet Romance Earrings

  • 15/0 seed beads Miyuki "Duracoat Galvanized Gold" (D4202)
  • 8mm rivoli Swarovski "Montana"
  • 4mm bicones Swarovski "Montana"
  • 3mm bicones Swarovski "Crystal"

My birthday was earlier this month and I thought you might like to see some of the beaded presents that I received from my friends. Today's earrings were made by Jeanie Callaghan. Aren't they beautiful? The pattern is an adaptation of Sidonia's "Sweet Romance Necklace" tutorial. You can watch the free video HERE. I seem to recall that you also need to watch THIS video tutorial to make the bezels. Jeanie told me that she changed the top motif a little by using 4mm bicones instead of 3mm bicones.

Someone informed me yesterday that the link from my blog to the free Russian tutorial for "Semi-Circular Earrings" goes to a site that is infected with malware. I apologize if anyone has had a problem because of following the link from my blog. I've removed the link from THIS post just to be safe. It's a shame that such a nice pattern is no longer available because of hackers.

I miss my beads...

I just wanted to let you all know that I haven't disappeared and I hope to post again soon. We just got new living room furniture yesterday and I'm trying to come up with a good solution for storing my beading supplies so that they're easily accessible. At the moment, everything is put away in a closet and not convenient at all. We live in a very tiny house so it's not easy to come up with efficient storage solutions.

I won't be posting for a little while. We have company visiting from out of town. We're also having new living room furniture delivered on Friday so my beading stuff is put away until at least this weekend. It will take me a while to catch up, do some more beading and write more blog articles.

Free Beading Pattern: Tallulah Tila Bracelet

TALLULAH TILA BRACELET

Surprise! Sorry for teasing you by posting so many of these bracelets over the past week or so when there was no pattern available to make them. Now you can make your own with this free pattern. The pattern was designed by my friend Teejay. I wrote up the tutorial and added the photos for making the original version and also a version without the extra embellishment. The pattern explains how to make both versions.

Once again I've made two versions of the pattern available for download; a text-only version and a fully illustrated version. Feel free to download them both. I've done this so that you can save paper and ink if you like.

You can get the bead information for the  two bracelets in the photos HERE and HERE.

Click HERE to download the text version of the pattern

NOTE: I don't mind if you sell the projects that you make with our patterns, but please mention that you got the pattern from Linda's Crafty Inspirations.
Please contact me for information about teaching this or any of our patterns in a class.

Below are the two original bracelets that Teejay sent me the Christmas before last:

Bracelet of the Day: Tallulah Tila - Saffron

TALLULAH TILA BRACELET
  • 11/0 seed beads Toho "Bronze" (223)
  • 8/0 seed beads Toho "Bronze" (223)
  • Tila beads "Transparent Saffron Picasso" (TL-4501)
  • SuperDuo beads "Opaque Yellow Copper Picasso"

I used yellow gold colored thread for this one because black thread showed too much going through the Tila beads.

Bracelet of the Day: Tallulah Tila - Dark Amber & Blue

TALLULAH TILA BRACELET
  • 11/0 seed beads Toho "Metallic Bronze Iris" (83)
  • 8/0 seed beads Toho "Metallic Bronze Iris" (83)
  • Tila beads "Transparent Dark Amber Picasso" (TL-4502)
  • SuperDuo beads "Green Turquoise Red Terracotta"

This is one of my favorite "Tallulah Tila" bracelets. Although the SuperDuos are called green-turquoise, I think they look more blue than green next to the other beads that I used and it's a pretty shade of blue. It's not easy to find beads in shades of blue that I like. You can't see it well in the photo but there are flecks of the same blue "picasso" on the Tila beads. I found these SuperDuo beads at Aria Design Studio on Etsy HERE. Lisa also has a color that looks very similar called "Turquoise Red Luster" HERE.

Bracelet of the Day: Tallulah Tila - Cranberry

TALLULAH TILA BRACELET
  • 11/0 seed beads Toho "Metallic Olivine Bronze Iris" (513)
  • 7/0 Miyuki Matubo beads "Crystal Full Amber" (26440)
  • Tila beads "Deep Cranberry AB Gold Luster" (TL-304)
  • SuperDuo beads "Crystal Amber Gold Full"

I finally got to try out the seed beads that I bought to go with the "Crystal Amber Gold Full" SuperDuo beads. I blogged about my search for a matching color HERE and HERE. As you can see, the colors do go quite well together even though they're not an exact match. The seed beads are a mix of colors ranging from gold to a sort of pinkish copper. When combined, the colors sort of blend and give the beadwork the look of antique gold.

I bought the seed beads from Charlene's Beads HERE. They're a little over halfway down the page and look like this:

I did some searching online and they also go by a couple of other names: "Gold Iris Metallic Carnival" and "Galvanized Carnival".
