Free Beading Tutorial - Crystal Earring Drop

While browsing Pinterest, I came upon this necklace photo and it gave me an idea for embellishing a crystal drop bead:

What I came up with is easy to do and the number of seed beads can be adjusted to fit different size drops. My tutorial includes the bead counts for two common sizes. The earring in the photo below is my adaptation of the "Arula Earrings" pattern, which I blogged about HERE. I've made a few more sample earrings with this drop bead added and I will blog about them later after I take photos of them.
ARULA EARRINGS VARIATION

  • 15/0 seed beads Miyuki "Dark Bronze" (457D)
  • 8/0 seed beads Miyuki "Dark Bronze" (457D)
  • 3mm druks "Ivory Pearl Coat"
  • 7x5mm drop "Transparent Champagne Luster"

  1. I really like your version and the modification you did on the original. I don't think I'm experienced enough to figure this one out from the original photos. Very pretty shape.

  2. I am a bit baffled as to why you would write a tutorial where at least 80% is already done and only giving the directions for adding the drop at the bottom. Why is that?

    1. That's because the rest of the earring is not my pattern. It wouldn't be right for me to include the instructions for the making the rest of the earring when the pattern is available on this blog:

    2. Can't you show how to make the actual earring and give the designer credit?

    3. Denise, there is already a tutorial that shows how to make it. There is a link to it in my post.

  3. OMG! I found your site through Deb Roberti around the beading table. UI love her patterns and was so pleased with what I found on your web. Thank you so very much for sharing some of your patterns. pwbeads Cindy Musick

    1. The earring pattern is posted on someone else's blog HERE. My pattern is only for making the drop part of the earring. The drop can be added to other earring designs as well as this one.
