Harlequin Bracelet - Turquoise Bronze

HARLEQUIN BRACELET
  • 15/0 seed beads Miyuki/Czech "Black Bronze" (CZ55030)
  • 11/0 seed beads Miyuki/Czech "Black Bronze" (CZ55030)
  • 8/0 seed beads Miyuki/Czech "Black Bronze" (CZ55030)
  • Kite beads "Turquoise Laser Bronze Matte Feather"
  • 6mm 2-hole cabochons "Alabaster Pastel Dark Brown"

I've blogged about Norma Jean Dell's "Harlequin Bracelet" a few times before HERE, HERE, HERE and HERE. When I saw these copper and turquoise Kite beads at Queen City Bead, I had to have some. I love the colors and the etched leaf design makes them even more special. Once I had them, I realized that it wasn't going to be easy matching them up with seed beads. The best color turned out to be these Miyuki/Czech hybrid beads which are a very dark chocolatey copper.

You can buy Norma Jean Dell's "Harlequin Bracelet" pattern HERE on Etsy. You can buy these Kite beads HERE at Queen City Bead. Red Panda has the seed beads and you'll find the 15/0 beads HERE, the 11/0 beads HERE and the 8/0 beads HERE.

YouTube Beading Tutorial: Dainty Bracelet

DAINTY BRACELET
  • 11/0 seed beads Miyuki "Light Bronze" (457L)
  • 8/0 seed beads Miyuki "Light Bronze" (457L)
  • 4x6mm rondelles "Gold Opal" (Chinese)

I have a pretty big stash of Chinese rondelles so I'm always on the lookout for ways to use them. I found a YouTube video by Sonysree Creations for making a bracelet with just rondelles and seed beads so I gave it a try. I've only made this one colorway so far but I will try some others sometime. The bracelet is quick and easy to make and you'll find the video HERE.

I bought these Chinese rondelles in a local bead shop that is no longer in business and I have no idea if they are available online anywhere. They're a translucent opal color with metallic gold spots on them.

Presa Linda Variation - Apollo Gold, Copper & Pewter

PRESA LINDA BRACELET VARIATION
  • 11/0 seed beads Miyuki "Duracoat Galvanized Pewter" (D4222)
  • 8/0 seed beads Miyuki "Duracoat Galvanized Pewter" (D4222)
  • Samos® par Puca® beads "Copper Gold Matte"
  • 4mm fire polished beads "Matte Apollo Gold"

A few years ago I made the pretty "Gypsy Earrings" below and blogged about them HERE. The other day I was trying to find a way to use some of the new Samos® par Puca® beads that I got recently from Queen City Bead and decided to try them with the "Presa Linda" pattern. Instead of using Pinch beads and Silky beads, I used Samos beads and 4mm fire polished beads. They work perfectly and I didn't have to alter the pattern at all except for swapping out the beads. These copper Samos beads are pretty close to the same color as the SuperDuos in the earrings and I still had plenty of the 4mm Matte Apollo Gold fire polished beads to make this matching bracelet.

  • 11/0 seed beads Miyuki "Duracoat Galvanized Pewter" (D4222)

  • 6mm fire polished beads "Matte Apollo Gold"
  • SuperDuo beads "Crystal Bronze Copper"
  • 4mm fire polished beads "Matte Apollo Gold"

While I was looking through my bead stash for ideas, I came up with two other colorways that I'd like to try with this "Presa Linda" variation. Below are two little color samples that I made:

"Presa Linda" is a variation of Carole Ohl's "Presa Bracelet" pattern, which you can buy HERE. "Presa Linda Bracelet" is a free pattern and you can download it from THIS post. You'll find the Samos® par Puca® beads HERE at Queen City Bead on Etsy. There is no pattern available for the "Gypsy Earrings".

Free Beading Patterns - Rosalie Bracelet & Earrings

ROSALIE BRACELET & EARRINGS
  • 11/0 seed beads Toho "Nickel Plated" (711)
  • 8/0 seed beads Toho "Nickel Plated" (711)
  • Ginko beads "Metallic Suede Purple"
  • Paisley Duo beads "Polychrome Blueberry"

If you've been wondering what I have been up to since my last post, you can see that I was busy designing a couple of new patterns. I recently got some of the new Ginko beads to try out and they work very nicely with Paisley Duos as you can see. Although I have quite a few Ginko colors, I only have Paisley Duos in a few but I managed to come up with five pretty colorways. I had enough Paisley Duo beads to make both a bracelet and a pair of earrings in three of the colorways. You'll find the links to download the free bracelet and earrings patterns down below near the bottom of this post.

The "Rosalie" patterns work well with Miyuki and Toho seed beads with only a small change for using Miyuki beads. This change is indicated in the pattern instructions. Also, due to the design of the bracelet, it can be tricky to make it fit some wrist sizes. For that reason, there is an optional way to end the bracelet with an additional Ginko bead on each end. This extender bead makes it possible to fit in-between wrist sizes without having to use a lot of extra jump rings on the clasp. When I made a bracelet for myself using the original clasp loops, I had to use three jump rings on each end to make it fit me. When I added the extra Ginko beads to each end, the bracelet fit me with only one jump ring on each end.

Below is a sample that shows two ideas that I had for extending the bracelet. I decided that the Ginko bead option suited the style of the bracelet better than the seed bead extender. Of course you can use the either option if you like but only the Ginko option is mentioned in the pattern. Both methods add about the same length to the bracelet.
