Today's bracelet was adapted from Deb Roberti's "Flutter" pattern. I blogged before about another one made with Candy beads HERE.

Yesterday I went to a local bead shop called Beads One. They had a special coupon for email subscribers good for 50% off all strands. I got quite a nice little pile of beads for around $13.00 with tax.

There are two strands of a new kind of rondelles that have a pearly, metallic coating. I got a strand of aqua and one of olive green. The most expensive beads on the pile are the 4mm cube beads. I'm planning to use those to try THIS video tutorial. Here's a screenshot of the bracelet from Gina's video:

The funny thing is that just after taking the photo of those beads, I was scooping them up into a container when the cord on the cube beads snapped and those beads all slid off. Luckily all but four of them went into the container.

I see that Beads One doesn't have the cube color that I bought listed on their website. I thought they had quite a few on the rack but apparently they've sold out of it. The color is called "Purple Velvet AB". They're a very pretty combination of dark, smoky purple and hints of metallic bronze. The only beads on the pile that are available online are the 3mm and 4mm pearls. The two colors that I bought are the "Royal Blue #32" and "Fucsia #20" (their spelling). The royal blue ones are more like turquoise or teal than what I'd call royal blue.

I'm starting to like this dark metallic gold. It's rather bold but it goes so well with Miyuki's "Light Bronze" seed beads and also with boldly colored beads such as these Arcos, MiniDuos and 2-hole cabochons. I do like this fun colorway and I will keep this bracelet for myself if I can find something to wear it with.

Blue and silver is such a pretty color combination. The photos don't quite capture the soft, delicate look of this bracelet. I've got one more of these bracelets to post tomorrow and then I will blog about some other patterns.

I really wanted to use these gold Arcos and Minos beads and the only remotely similar seed bead color happens to be made by Toho. Luckily, they actually fit this time without any tweaking. It's very frustrating that neither of the major seed bead manufacturers make seed beads in this popular gold metallic color called "Full Dorado". Lots of Czech beads come in this color so what are we supposed to use for seed beads? Toho and Miyuki need to get on the ball when it comes to metallic seed bead colors to match the metallic colors of Czech beads. I don't like it that I have to pick and choose the gold beads out of this "carnival" mix and all of the pinkish copper colored beads just go to waste. Naturally this color is also one of the more expensive colors to buy.

I had already typed this post before making the last three "Linda's Tweaked Jolie Bands" that I will blog about this week. I think that this is one of my favorite "Fina" bracelets. I actually made this one before making the "Linda's Tweaked Jolie Band" bracelet in a similar colorway and it inspired me to make it. You can see that bracelet below and read about it HERE.

Since the Arcos and Minos beads don't come in my favorite "Chalk Lazure Blue" color, I at least had to make one with one of my other favorite bead colors: "Senegal Brown Purple" aka "Gold and Smoky Topaz Luster". I've noticed lately that they're making the purple a bit more pronounced than they used to in beads with this color finish which makes me happy. I think it goes quite nicely with these burgundy cabochons. I don't have any Minos beads to match these Arcos but I like the look of these bronze druks even better than Minos beads in this bracelet colorway. They have a more feminine look.

Although it's not really a new bead color, I've only started using "Pastel Petrol" recently. I think it was seeing it in person at a local bead shop that finally got me interested. Now I'm finding that it goes quite well with a variety of other colors. I especially like it with this minty green that they call "teal" for some reason. If anything, the petrol is more like a teal color and the cabochons are definitely light green.

I came up with my tweaked version of Deb's pattern after making this same colorway using her original version of "Jolie Bands". You can read my other post HERE. I thought it would be fun to make one of the tweaked bracelets using the same colors and I love how the seed beads outline the ivory beads so that they show up better. Regular "Jolie" is a cute casual style bracelet. Adding the MiniDuos and a border to each motif makes it a little more dressy. Below is the original version of the bracelet in this colorway:

Who knew that mint green and purple could go so well together? I wanted to use these mint green beads but I decided that neutral colors such as silver or ivory 2-hole cabochons would look much too boring. I grabbed these purple cabochons on a whim thinking that I had nothing to lose by trying them and I'm sure glad that I did. I love this colorway very much.
