PRINCESS EARRINGS
- 15/0 seed beads Miyuki "Dark Bronze" (457)
- 4mm Czech bicones "Hematite Luster Aquamarine"
- 4mm druks "Bronze"
Today's earrings are also the larger size with 4mm beads. I love the color of these bicones but I've never seen them for sale anywhere except HERE at Red Panda. I didn't have a drop bead in this color so I added seed bead picots at the bottom of the earrings.

- 4mm Czech bicones "Crystal Golden Flare"
- 4mm Czech pearls "Old Lace"
- 6x12mm drop bead "Champagne" (Chinese)
I made these earrings with 4mm beads so they're quite a bit larger than the earrings that I blogged about yesterday. They're the size that Robin made her earrings in the class that I took at Beadoholique. It's kind of funny that back when I took Robin's class I wasn't keen on wearing large earrings. That's why I got the idea of making the earrings with smaller beads. Over the years I've grown to like larger earrings and these really don't seem as big to me now.
You'll find the link to the free "Princess Earrings" pattern in yesterday's post HERE. I got these bicones at Red Panda HERE. I'm pretty sure that Red Panda also has the Czech pearls.
I had a nice birthday yesterday. You're going to love the bracelets that Teejay made for me for my birthday. They are works of art. I will take photos of them as soon as I can so that you can see how beautiful they are. In the meantime, I've got more pairs of "Princess Earrings" to show you over the next few days.
Although today is my birthday, it is a very sad day. Beadoholique, one of my favorite local bead shops, is officially closing forever today because the owner is retiring. It was the largest bead store in this area and it was only about a mile from my house. She tried to sell the store but nobody was interested in buying it.
Almost four years ago, I took a class at Beadoholique that was taught by Robin Smith. In the class, I learned how to make her "Princess" earrings. With the store closing, Robin will no longer be teaching her classes and she has graciously given me permission to share her pattern with my blog readers.
So, in honor of Beadoholique, my friend Robin and my birthday, you can download Robin's beautiful "Princess Earrings" pattern for free. I've blogged about these earrings a few times before and you can read the details about the blue earrings at the top of this post HERE. Read my first post about the "Princess Earrings" HERE.

NOTE: You may sell the projects that you make with this pattern, but please credit Robin Smith as the designer and mention that you got the pattern from Linda's Crafty Inspirations. Please do not distribute or sell this pattern.
Below are some of the Princess earrings that I've made. Two of the pairs have no dangle at the bottom, just a little seed bead picot. The pattern includes instructions for making the picot. Robin's earrings had a large drop bead dangle and the pattern has instructions for adding one. The last pair of earrings below have a drop bead dangle but I added it using a different method than the one in the pattern.
Robin makes her earrings with 4mm crystals and 4mm pearls but all of my earrings in this post were made with 3mm beads. Both bead sizes work equally well with this design.

I mentioned in yesterday's post HERE that I wanted to try the same earring pattern but with a few extra rows of beads in the fringe. Today's earrings are the result. It's not very obvious that they're longer but I like that there is a little more of the main color in the fringe.
Delica beads are available at Red Panda, Aura Crystals, Supply Emporium and Baubles & Beads.
I won't be blogging tomorrow or Thursday but I've got something special for you on Friday, which is my birthday. Don't tell anyone but I'm going to be 60. Can you believe it? I sure can't.

- 11/0 Delica beads "Matte Opaque Sea Foam Glazed Luster" (DB374)
I showed you a glimpse of today's earrings in yesterday's post HERE. I love how these turned out. I think there are enough colors in them that they're bound to go with something that wear. They're colorful but the colors are a little muted which is just what I like. The Duracoat Galvanized Matte Delica beads come in quite a few pretty colors similar to these. I'm not wild about most of the regular shiny metallic colors but the matte ones are gorgeous.
Although I love this final version of the earring design very much, I'm going to try making the same design with slightly longer fringe and see how well I like it. My plan is to add two more beads to each of the two rows of berry Delicas near the bottom of the fringe.
Delica beads are available at Red Panda, Aura Crystals, Supply Emporium and Baubles & Beads.

Today's earrings evolved from my attempt to make a smaller version of the gorgeous earring that I blogged about HERE. Below is a photo of the earring from that post. I still haven't made the other earring to go with that one but I probably will eventually. It's too pretty not to even though it has a very long fringe and takes hours to make.

I made the purple and blue sample above first. My goal was to shrink down the size of the top section without affecting the overall design too much. I'm pleased with the way the top came out. However, I'm not that keen on my adaptation of the fringe design. What I don't like is the part of the fringe at the top just below the top section. The shape of the design looks messy and random with those light green beads. Unlike the original earring that I was adapting, there aren't as many beads in this smaller version so the outline isn't as well defined in that spot.
In the colorway below, I used all one color for the outline and I think that works better. However, I think that part of the design bulges out a little too much so I'm working on a slightly different version.

Here's a sneak peek at what's on my beading mat at the moment. It's what I'm hoping will be the final version of my adaptation of this earring design. I usually make these earrings with four colors but I added a fifth one this time for a very colorful look. I did have to make some tweaks to the design of the top section in order to make it work well my new fringe design.
