Hello everyone! I don't have any beadwork to blog about today but I just found out about a YouTube video by Jill Wiseman that I know you're going to want to watch. The "Half Tila Herringbone" bracelets that I have blogged about several times are one of the most popular bracelet designs on the Internet. I don't have my own pattern for making these bracelets because there are so many already available in PDF form as well as video tutorials.
Jill shows how to do this technique with SuperDuo beads but it also works the same with Half Tila beads and many other kinds of 2-hole beads. You will find her video HERE. She also has a free illustrated PDF file HERE. You can read about the two bracelets in my photos HERE and HERE.

I'm pretty sure that I have used every Cali bead color that I have in my stash so this is probably the final "Claudia" bracelet. This time I paired the bracelet with a pair of "Bethany Earrings".
I don't currently have any other projects to blog about but I'm hoping to come up with some now and then throughout the summer. I have some birthday present beading to do but they are all bracelets and earrings that I have previously blogged about. Although I won't be posting often, I will pop in whenever I've got something to show you.

I was going to do some beading today but I've decided to give up on beading until later in the fall when it's cooler. Beading when it's this hot takes all the fun out of it. We live in Texas and it's 95 degrees today and we have no air conditioning. Well, we do have air conditioning but as of last summer it no longer cools the parts of the house where we spend all of our time during the day, namely the living room and kitchen. It works fine in the bedrooms and bathrooms but no air conditioning comes out of the vents in the main parts of the house.
The landlord sent someone out to look at it three times last year but they can't find anything wrong with the system, which is only three or four years old. They even replaced all of the ducts in the attic last summer and it made no difference. This is a very small house and there is no place in any of the bedrooms to do my beading. We do have several fans in the living room but they're not enough to compensate for how hot it gets in here on sunny days. We keep the living room blinds closed during the day to keep it cooler in here so I have to use a lamp while I'm beading. Even with LED bulbs in the lamp, it still gives off a lot of heat. I really hate to give up my beading but I don't see any point in doing it if it's not enjoyable. I will try to squeeze in some beading time whenever we have a rainy or very cloudy day when it's not quite so hot.

This "Raku" SuperDuo mix has been around for years but I only recently bought a tube of them in a local bead shop. They would be wonderful for making a "Mystery Bracelet" and I will likely do that sometime. In the meantime, I had these turquoise Cali beads that are exactly the same color as the turquoise SuperDuos in the mix so I made this "Claudia Bracelet" and a matching pair of "Corundum" earrings. I have one more "Claudia" colorway that I would like to make and then I will move on to something else.
