Bracelet of the Day: Duo Candy - Blue & Coco

  • 11/0 seed beads Miyuki "Duracoat Pewter" (4222)
  • 8/0 seed beads Miyuki "Duracoat Pewter" (4222)
  • 8mm 2-hole Candy beads "Montana Blue"
  • SuperDuo beads "Pastel Light Brown/Coco"

I'm calling this design "Duo Candy Bracelet" because it doesn't really have a name. As I mentioned in my post on August 27th, HERE, I saw a bracelet for sale in an Etsy shop that appears to be adapted from the "Duo Kheops" pattern by Marina Beads.

The sample that I showed you in my other post was made with "Pearl Coat Brown Sugar" Superduos. I didn't have enough of that color to make a complete bracelet so I used "Pastel Light Brown/Coco" instead. It's nearly the same color and finish but the brown sugar ones are a slightly warmer color. Although the color is almost tan, it has the appearance of dull silver in this bracelet. I made two samples using two silver SuperDuo colors but I didn't like them as well as these. There's something about the dreamy, creamy finish on these that seems to go very nicely with the blue and pewter beads.

Below are the two samples that I made with "Jet Old Silver" (right sample) and "Pearl Luster" (left sample). The "Pearl Luster" SuperDuos came from Nirvana Beads but they have discontinued that color. I found the "Jet Old Silver" SuperDuos at a local shop and the only other place I've seen them online is Aria Design Studio Etsy, HERE.

You'll find these 8mm Candy beads at Queen City Bead on Etsy HERE. You can buy the original "Duo Kheops Bracelet" pattern on Etsy HERE.

  2. I really like this and think it would be a great project to share with my bread group. Would you be open to this idea? I can make a sample for you to approve then teach it to the group if you agree.
    Thank you.

    1. I can't give my approval because it's not my design and I don't know of a pattern for it. All I know is that it's very similar to Marina Beads "Duo Kheops" pattern which I linked to above.

    1. Hi Debra. No, I haven't tried them. I've only seen one pattern for them that interested me so I decided not to buy them. I was tempted a few times though.

  5. What size jump ring did you connect with?

    1. I used 5mm jump rings. 6mm rings are little too big and 4mm are too small.
