JOLIE BAND
- 11/0 seed beads Miyuki "Nickel Plated" (190)
- 8/0 seed beads Toho "Nickel Plated" (711)
- 6mm 2-hole cabochons "Jet Argentic Full"
- Arcos® par Puca® beads "Opaque Light Green Luster"
- Minos® par Puca® beads "Opaque Light Green Luster"
I went ahead and tried the Arcos and Minos beads in one more color. I like this colorway much better than the one that I blogged about HERE. My husband even raved about it. He said that he likes the shape of the Arcos beads. I do like this bracelet so maybe they'll grow on me over time.
You may have noticed that I used both Miyuki and Toho seed beads in this bracelet. That's because I don't have Miyuki nickel plated ones in size 8/0. I'd like to get some sometime if I can find them but Toho's work just fine for attaching my jump rings. I just picked out two of them that weren't too long. I did try using Toho 11/0 nickel beads but they didn't work very well with this pattern so I switched to the smaller, more evenly shaped Miyuki ones.
I made a little tweak to the pattern when I made this bracelet. I wasn't happy about how much space there was between the seed beads above and below the cabochons when I added three as directed by the pattern. I found that four filled the space much better. When you make this pattern, try three first and see if they fit well with the beads that you're using. If you're seeing gaps between the beads, go ahead and try using four. Bear in mind that I'm not counting the seed beads that are next to the Arcos beads. Those are added in a previous step.

I too rather like this combination of colours and always interested to hear how (or why) you use different makes of seed beads and how they work or not as the case may be.
