Wood Trinket Boxes Update

Way back in February of 2014, I blogged HERE about some unfinished wooden trinket boxes that I had found at Dollar Tree. I painted them then covered them with pretty paper and gave them as Christmas gifts in 2013. Back when I bought the little boxes, I bought all that they had in stock and I haven't seen them again since then. Well, I was excited to find some at Dollar Tree today. I don't know if that means that they will carry them as a regular item or not so I bought all seven that they had. I got six rectangular boxes and one square one.

If you have a Dollar Tree store near you, check to see if they have these. It's possible that they're only going to have them in stock for Christmas crafts. They're very nicely made for the dollar price. They're hinged and have a little magnet closure. I've seen similar boxes at craft stores but they usually cost more and have a metal latch on the front which makes decorating them the way I did mine a bit of a challenge. You can read the details of how I decorated my boxes in my previous post.

If I have time after I finish my Christmas beading, I might decorate a couple of the boxes for gifts. On Monday I got an order for two more beaded bracelets with matching earrings so I will be beading like mad for the next several days. We're supposed to have a few sunny days ahead, starting tomorrow, so hopefully I'll be able to take some beadwork photos to post here.

Below are the graphics that I used on these two trinket boxes. They are collages that I created myself using line art images from my collection. You can use them in your craft projects but please don't sell my images or post them online. You can sell the crafts that you make with these graphics.  I'm posting the two box lid graphics as well as both complete collage sheets that can be cropped as needed to cover the sides of a box. These images are much larger than they appear here on my blog.

  1. Thank you so much for sharing your graphics. I was by a Dollar Tree Sunday and didn't go in and now I wish I had. Ann

    1. What kinds of things do you make with them, Marge?

  3. Scrapbooking but mostly greeting cards. I was offered a huge job to make cards but had to turn it down. Too much for me and I couldn't find help. The Silhouette Cameo makes miracles. Unbelievable what it can do. No one here is interested in the machine so I'll keep you in mind when I give it up. Just bought the machine 8 mos. ago and have not used it in 4 mos. for health reasons. I think I'll be giving it away soon but not sure how soon

    1. I did a little research on the Silhouette Cameo a few years ago and was amazed at what it can do. I gave up on the idea though because of the price. I would definitely be interested in it should you decide to give it away.
