Janet Earrings - Ashen Grey Copper

  • 11/0 seed beads Miyuki "Duracoat Pewter" (4222)
  • 8/0 seed beads Miyuki "Duracoat Pewter" (4222)
  • CzechMates tile beads "Ashen Grey Copper Picasso"
  • SuperDuo beads "Opaque Violet Dark Travertin"

These earrings are my adaptation of Deb Roberti's "Coin Earrings" with SuperDuos added. You can buy Deb's original pattern HERE. I hope to publish a pattern for my version soon.

  1. Linda, these are all so beautiful I can't pick a favorite... maybe today's... or maybe the turquoise bronze... orrrrr, maybe the topaz gold! Nope, can't decide, they're all great color combos as usual.

I noticed sometimes you add SBs at "inside" ends of the superduos, which got me wondering if you could sub honeycomb beads for the tile beads? Or would they be too floppy at the outer edges because of the extra SBs you'd need to add to compensate for where the corners were "cut off"? Maybe a carefully placed SB8 or 2/3mm bead of some type could take up that space, but I wonder if it might spoil the simplicity of the design. Guess I'll have to try it to find out.

Hope you and your family are well and staying safe.

    1. Hi Barbara. Those inner seed beads do stabilize the earrings. Otherwise they would flop around. For some reason I'm not keen on Honeycomb beads in that configuration so I haven't tried them. You should give them a try and see what you come up with.
