ESMERALDA EARRINGS
- 15/0 seed beads Miyuki "Duracoat Pewter" (4222)
- 11/0 seed beads Miyuki "Duracoat Pewter" (4222)
- 3mm fire polished beads "Antique Silver"
While looking through my bead stash for colors to use to make some more "Esmeralda Earrings", I decided to see if fire polished beads would work. I only have a enough 3mm fire polished beads in a couple of colors to make a complete pair and this was one of them. It turns out that fire polished beads work great with this pattern and it also turned out that I like this monochromatic metallic colorway very much.
I made these earrings by following THIS video tutorial by Designer Beadwork. Please note though that I make mine smaller than the ones in the video so all of the beads that I use are one size smaller than what she calls for. You can buy a copy of the pattern HERE on Etsy.
I have a ton of fire-polished beads so was going to try this pattern with them. So glad to see they do work after all!
ReplyDeleteI already knew that fire polished beads worked well in the Princess Earrings and those are made using similar method.
DeleteNice genuinely antique look
ReplyDeleteThank you, Helen.
DeleteSo glad you revisited this pattern. Just made a pair with 457s and 3mm metallic turquoise/green picasso fire polished. Love them!!
ReplyDeleteYour earrings sound lovely, Jeanne.
DeleteI love this! Followed the DesignerBeadwork tutorial on her youtube and it turned out so pretty! I want to try it with the smaller beads like you suggest. It came out kind of crowded.
ReplyDeleteDo you have any suggestions on where to get the earring findings?
Craft stores should have them. I buy mine from China on eBay because they're super cheap.
