SUPERDUO FLOWER CHAIN EARRINGS
- 11/0 seed beads Miyuki "Dark Bronze" (11-457D)
- 8/0 seed beads Miyuki "Dark Bronze" (8-457D)
- SuperDuo beads "Blue Luster"
Last night I made myself a cute little pair of earrings to go with my new, blue "Mystery SuperDuo Bracelet". I love the color and now I have a bracelet and a pair of earrings to go with the blouse that I'm wearing today. In fact, I decided to take a photo of them next to the fabric so you can see how well they go together. I'm also considering doing this kind of thing more often so that you can see which beadwork pieces I often wear with different outfits. I don't usually try to make a bracelet specifically to go with an outfit but I do have certain favorite combinations that I like to wear.
The earrings are my free "SuperDuo Flower Chain" pattern, which you can read about and download HERE. They're so quick and simple to make and they're great for using up the odds and ends of SuperDuo colors that you don't have enough of for a larger project. You'll need ten SuperDuo beads if you make this version or twelve if you make the ones with the little chain link at the top. On May 30th, I blogged about how to tweak the pattern to make the earrings without the link at the top. Click HERE to read that post.
Lovely set!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Marta.
DeleteLinda: Thanks for the superduo flower chain earring pattern. I'm a newbie at seedbeading and just tried to do another earring pattern (from someone else - paid) and got stuck because the pictures don't show the threadpath. Yours do, and I have a feeling I'll be able to complete it without any problems. Your tutorial is excellent, and you are very generous!
ReplyDeleteI hope it goes well for you, Bobbie. Good luck and have fun!
DeleteCan I share your free patterns with my Bead guild?
ReplyDeleteYou could give them the links to download the patterns.
DeleteThank you for sharing this pattern and your color combinations. My whole beading group ordered the blue and bronze beads and each made this bracelet. It is fabulous! We even had two newbies in the group who were able to do it. We only had one problem. We all thought we were very careful to check all the holes in the super duos ahead of time, but when we came back to use the second holes, about three of us had clogged holes. I broke my bead while trying to unclog it and had to undo the bracelet and restart from that point. Next time I will triple check the holes in the coated super duos before using them. Other than that, we all agreed we would be making this bracelet numerous times in different colors. It would look great as a watch band, also. Thanks again, Jennifer
ReplyDeleteBeen there, done that! Whenever I'm making something that doesn't have a huge amount of SuperDuos, I usually count them out and cull them ahead of time. That doesn't really save time but it makes for more pleasurable and relaxing beading. Just the other day though, I thought I'd culled all of them but somehow I missed a bad one and had to start over.
Deletewhere can I purchase 457D miyuki beads?
ReplyDeleteI buy mine from Charlene's Beads. Click HERE to go to the page that they're on.
DeleteHi Linda, might you have a pattern for these earrings and how to finish the bracelet? I am happy to pay for tutorials! All, so gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteHi Sheila. I have a free pattern for the earrings that you can download from THIS post. I also have a tutorial for the bracelet HERE but it doesn't include the clasp loops because the original designer never showed that and it would need to be finished off differently depending on how many rows you add. You can see a close-up photo of how I finished mine off in THIS post.
