I'm sorry for not posting anything in so long. I had actually been beading a lot of color samples and was about ready to start making some bracelets to blog about when all of my creative plans went out the window. At at the beginning of the month, my husband went for a short bicycle ride around the neighborhood one evening and ended up in the hospital after falling off his bike. He hit his head, was knocked unconscious and woke up in the hospital. I was getting very worried when he wasn't back after dark and later got a call from the hospital to let me know that he was there. He suffered a traumatic brain injury, a broken hip, a laceration on his forehead as well as other more minor injuries. Thankfully a man saw him fall and called an ambulance.
After spending two weeks in the hospital, my husband finally came home last weekend. He will be alright but now we're facing weeks of in-home therapy for him and he has to avoid putting weight on his bad leg for the next month or so. So, I've had to put my beading stuff away for the time being and I won't have time for beading or drawing for a while.
All the best to you both!
ReplyDeleteThank you Bella.

ReplyDeleteThank you Sneaky. My husband was lucky that he was wearing a bike helmet and that his head injury wasn't much worse. He only had a little bleeding in his brain.
DeleteI'm so so sorry to hear this, and yes, I missed you. Be careful, both of you, and beading will be there for your mental therapy when you are ready. Best wishes!
ReplyDeleteThank you Liz.

DeleteLife and family always come first. Take care of your hubby and thanks for letting us know. I love your posts and will be waiting with threaded needle when you feel able to post again.
ReplyDeleteThanks GillB.
DeleteI''m so sorry to hear this! I hope he continues to improve.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jeanie. He's doing just fine now. He no longer has to use a walker and he can drive the car again. He does use a cane now and then for stability but he doesn't need it most of the time.
DeleteI just came across this blog. I'm sorry your year is starting off with a bummer. Thank goodness he made it through and is now in your hands. I've made several things you have created and posted about. I find you on Pinterest since I don't do Facebook. I can almost guarantee at least 3 out of 10 things I like are designed by you.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you have put your family as priority. (PS) Take care of yourself as well.
Thank you, Sheila. My husband is doing very well now.
