RUSSIAN LEAF EARRINGS
  • 8/0 seed beads Miyuki "Duracoat Light Pewter" (4221)
  • 11/0 Miyuki Delica beads "Matte Galvanized Dark Aqua" (DB1172)
  • 11/0 Miyuki Delica beads "Duracoat Galvanized Light Pewter" (DB1851)
  • 11/0 Miyuki Delica beads "Duracoat Galvanized Matte Berry" (DB1838F)
  • 11/0 Miyuki Delica beads "Opaque Dyed Peach" (DB1851)

I wanted to make a pair of "Russian Leaf Earrings" for myself to go with the top below:

  • 8/0 seed beads Miyuki "Duracoat Light Pewter" (4221)
  • 11/0 Miyuki Delica beads "Matte Galvanized Dark Aqua" (DB1172)
  • 11/0 Miyuki Delica beads "Duracoat Galvanized Light Pewter" (DB1851)
  • 11/0 Miyuki Delica beads "Opaque Matte Eggshell" (DB352)
  • 11/0 Miyuki Delica beads "Duracoat Opaque Tea Rose" (DB2111)

First I made a sample earring in the colorway above but it ended up being a little too pale. In these photos it appears to be a nearly perfect match but my camera caused some of the colors to be a bit off. I kept the aqua and pewter but switched the eggshell and tea rose to a berry color and a darker shade of peach. Those colors are perfect even though the berry beads look very red in my photos. They look a little more like the beads below and there really is this color in my top:

Click HERE to download my free PDF file which tells step-by-step when to add each color Delica bead while making these earrings. This is NOT a tutorial for making "Russian Leaf" earrings". You will need to use Jill Wiseman's tutorial (see the link below) but make them with seven rows instead of nine as Jill instructs. The color chart below is included in the PDF file.

Read THIS post where I explain how I finish and reinforce my Russian Leaf earrings. I also have information about how I stiffen my earrings in THIS post.

Watch Jill Wiseman's YouTube video tutorial HERE to learn how to make Russian Leaf earrings similar to these and download her free PDF HERE.

You can buy Delica beads at Red Panda, Aura Crystals, Supply Emporium and Jill Wiseman Designs.
