I've blogged before about my adaptation of Deb Roberti's "Coin Earrings" HERE and HERE as well as my post yesterday HERE. I made this pair of earrings to go with a "Coin Band" bracelet that I made quite some time ago and blogged about it HERE.
You can buy Deb's "Coin Earrings" pattern HERE and her "Coin Bands" pattern HERE.
Love that color! beautiful use of it!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Carole.
DeleteLooking great! I sure hope I can get those colors of beads from bead stores I use. Checked already one netshop but Jet Bronze Picasso CzechMates was there nearly black at picture. Pity!
ReplyDeleteI just went to look for that color on a couple of sites and I think they have a new version called "Jet Marbled Dark Bronze". It looks more black to me and the color number is different. Red Panda has this new color as well as the "Jet Bronze Picasso" that I used. The ones in my bracelet do look black until the light hits them as you see in my photo.

ReplyDeleteYou know I love the earrings.:-) I have yet another question for you. If anybody could answer this it would be you. I'm making Deb Roberti's pattern "Brocade". I'm using 6mm ruby vega tile beads(Czech) and 3mm firepolished. After I have about 6 -8 rows done the whole bracelet falls apart. The thread is cut everywhere. Second time I was careful not to pull the thread tight and still the 6 lb fireline was cut in about 5 places. Are the tile beads cutting the fireline and if so what stringing can be used that will not cut. Thanks in advance
Oh my! That sure is strange. I've never had any beads cut through FireLine that I know of. Can you feel any drag on the thread as you're going through either the tiles or the fire polished beads? I've only made those few small samples of that pattern and had no trouble. Obviously Deb made a bunch of example bracelets that didn't fall apart. I'm thinking that either the tiles or the fire polished beads are defective and rough inside the holes. Do you have any CzechMates or fire polished beads in other colors that you could try just to see what happens?
DeleteOne other remote possibility is that you've got a bad spool of FireLine or maybe there's a bad section on that spool. Does it look odd in any way?
