Bracelet of the Day: Bandwidth Bracelet - Navy & Ivory

BANDWIDTH BRACELET
  • 15/0 seed beads Miyuki "Metallic Gunmetal" (451)
  • 11/0 seed beads Miyuki "Metallic Gunmetal" (451)
  • 8/0 seed beads Miyuki "Metallic Gunmetal" (451)
  • SuperDuo beads "Duet Navy/Ivory Matte Luster"

I showed you a sample of this bracelet in my first post about the new SuperDuo Duets beads HERE. I love the feel of this bracelet with matte finish beads and the Duets give the design a very different look. You can alter this look by reversing the order of the light and dark sides of the beads. Here are two samples that show how different the design looks when the colors are reversed:

They call the blue color on these SuperDuos "Navy" but I think it's more like denim blue. The blue is kind of speckled which makes it look less like solid navy blue.

I made these "SuperDuo Flower Chain Earrings" to go with my bracelet but I modified the design slightly. I wanted to alternate the navy and ivory sides of the SuperDuos in the same manner as in the bracelet. If I had made the earrings according to the pattern, the effect created by the two-toned beads would have been off-kilter because it wouldn't be centered. So, I just added a few more seed beads at the top and bottom and skipped over two SuperDuos instead of just one. Doing this makes the earrings a slightly different shape which I think suits the bracelet better than the original earrings would have. I didn't really want them to look like flowers.

  • 8/0 seed beads Miyuki "Metallic Gunmetal" (451)
  • SuperDuo beads "Duet Navy/Ivory Matte Luster"

  8. I bought the bandwidth pattern but I don't see size 8 seed beads in her list of supplies. Where did you use the size 8 beads? Love the color combination and orientation of the duets!

    1. Hi Pat. I only used two 8/0 beads. One on each end of my clasp loops for attaching jump rings. I make my loops different than the pattern instructs.
