Making the Dragonfly Bracelet with one needle

After mentioning the other day that the Dragonfly Bracelet pattern by Justyna Szlezak is so much easier to make using one needle instead of two, I was asked for some tips regarding how to do this. First, you must buy the pattern from In Memory of Eridhan on Etsy HERE. The steps below are only to get you started making the main base of the bracelet. You will need the original pattern to embellish and complete the bracelet.

Read THIS post to get the info on the beads in the photo above.

HOW TO MAKE THE DRAGONFLY BRACELET USING ONE NEEDLE:

BEAD KEY:

  • SB8 = 8/0 seed bead
  • CM = CzechMate
  • SD = SuperDuo bead

1. Start with about 3 yards of thread and add more later once the main base of the bracelet has been made. Pick up one CM + one SB8. Go through the other hole of the CM, leaving a tail to weave in later. Pick up one SB8 and go through the other hole of the CM.

2. Add a clasp loop of your choice then exit through the CM.

3. Go through the next SB8 and the other hole of the CM. Pick up two SD + one CM + two SD. Go back around and through the same hole of the CM that you just exited. Weave around through the two SD, CM, two SD, CM, two SD and the CM to reinforce.

4. Pick up one SB8 and go through the other hole of the CM. Pick up one SB8 and go through the other hole of the CM. Go through the next SB8 and exit through the CM.

5. Pick up two SD + one CM + two SD. Go back around and through the CM that you just exited. Weave around through the two SD, CM, two SD, CM, two SD and the CM to reinforce.

6. Repeat Steps 4 and 5 for the length of the bracelet, ending with Step 4. Add a second clasp loop then proceed from Step 5 of the original tutorial.

    1. Unfortunately, that's where I got mine and I haven't seen that color anywhere else.

    2. Ann, you might try the color "Aquamarine Celsian" as a substitute. The color is a little more variegated but I think it's a similar shade of greenish blue.
