We're still working on the pattern for "Elinor" and Teejay just sent me a photo of a bracelet that she made using metallic blue SuperDuo beads. The colors are scrumptious, aren't they?
Here are the beads that she used to make her bracelet:
- 15/0 seed beads Miyuki "Olivine" (458)
- 11/0 seed beads Miyuki "Olivine" (458)
- 8/0 seed beads Miyuki "Olivine" (458)
- 8/0 seed beads Miyuki "Hybrid Transparent Light Smoky Topaz Picasso" (4505)
- SuperDuo beads " Metallic Iris Blue"
- 4mm druks "Opaque Green Luster"
Teejay also came up with a really clever idea. See that cute little dangle thing near the clasp? That's actually a "safety chain". The motif on the end of the chain is too big to go through the jump ring on the other end of the bracelet. Here's a view showing how it works:
Linda, this is beautiful. May I ask what graphic software you use to do your patterns, it's the best I've seen for getting the shapes of various beads correct.
ReplyDeleteThanks! Lisa
Teejay and I both use Paint Shop Pro to make our graphics.

DeleteLovely job on this bracelet, Tee Jay. I don't think dark blue beads get enough bead-love from beaders. Mixing them with a lighter color blue superduo just brings out their beauty. Greart idea on the guard, too.
ReplyDeletethanks jean jeany but those beads are all metallic they look plastic in my not very good photo shot..
ReplyDeletethey are the deepest electric blue they look velvety... and i agree you dont see much beaded stuff with that colour .... Have you got your colours lined up for this pattern..it shouldnt be long now.
what a clever idea on the safety chain! i like to use a bead chain with magnetic clasps and Teejay came up with a classy idea! thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteglad you like it cally ...how have you been beading yours ...have you ended up with a loop of bead chain when your magnets are together .. i was always worried if i did that i would catch the loop.
ReplyDeleteLove the idea of the safety chain. Thanks!!
ReplyDeleteI was just wondering if you have a pattern for this yet??? Love it ;-) Thank you for your patterns. We appreciate them.
ReplyDeleteYes. It's in the list of free patterns over on the right hand side of my blog. There's also a matching earring pattern.
