Bracelet of the Day: Ivy Bracelet Variation - Rose Gold

IVY BRACELET VARIATION
  • 11/0 seed beads Miyuki "Metallic Chocolate" (461)
  • 8/0 seed beads Miyuki "Metallic Chocolate" (461)
  • 6mm 2-hole cabochons "Jet Capri Rose Full"
  • SuperDuo beads "Opaque Rose Gold Topaz Luster"
  • O-Beads "Jet Bronze" (about 2.75 grams)

This one is another "Clover" version of the "Ivy Bracelet" design. Instead of DiamonDuo beads, it has 2-hole cabochons. That's the only change so you can follow the Ivy pattern as written and just switch out the DiamonDuos with cabochons. Download the free pattern from THIS post.

If you make our "Ivy" and "Bluebell" bracelet patterns you will find that you'll be going through quite a few O-Beads. They come in a lot of pretty colors but it's not easy to find any one bead site that has the best ones or at least the ones that I like. Claire at Supply Emporium on Etsy has some of my favorite colors that can be hard to find elsewhere. When you go to her Etsy shop, do a search for "Czech O-Beads". Readers of my blog can get 15% off any order over $30 by using the coupon code "15BLOG". Claire has loads of other gorgeous beads to tempt you as well.

UPDATE: I've added a notation to the supply list showing approximately how many grams of O-Beads you'll need to make the bracelet.

Free Beading Pattern - Bluebell Bracelet

BLUEBELL BRACELET
  • 11/0 seed beads Toho "Metallic Bronze Antique Gold" (225)
  • 8/0 seed beads Toho "Metallic Bronze Antique Gold" (225)
  • DiamonDuo beads "Chalk Lumi Green"
  • SuperDuo beads "Opaque Purple"
  • O-Beads "Opaque Blue Luster" (about 4.5 grams)

This is the second pattern based on one of the bracelets that Teejay sent me for my birthday. You can read my post about the bracelet from Teejay HERE. "Bluebell" is really just a variation of the "Ivy Bracelet" pattern but I went ahead and made it a separate free pattern because the instructions and diagrams are a little different.

UPDATE: I've added a notation to the supply list showing approximately how many grams of O-Beads you'll need to make the bracelet.

I had hoped to have more example bracelets to show you but I was busy this past week working on a beadwork order. I've got a few colorways that I want to try with "Bluebell" and "Ivy" and will blog about them as soon as I can make them and take the photos. I made a really pretty one last night and I'll try to take the photos later today.

Here is the "Bluebell Bracelet" that Teejay sent me for my birthday:

Duo Kheops Bracelet & Wave of Love Earrings - Copper & Rose

DUO KHEOPS BRACELET
  • 11/0 seed beads Miyuki "Duracoat Galvanized Light Golden Bronze" (D4204)
  • 8/0 seed beads Miyuki "Duracoat Galvanized Light Golden Bronze" (D4204)
  • Kheops® Par Puca® beads "Opaque Rose Luster"
  • SuperDuo beads "Crystal Bronze Copper"

I blogged about this colorway once before HERE. I was making another "Duo Kheops" bracelet in the same color for my sister-in-law and thought I'd show you the earrings that I made to go with it. I also wanted to show you how dramatically bead dye lots can differ. The bracelet at the top of this post is the original bracelet that I made for myself. In the photo below, I've placed my bracelet next to the one that I just made. The Kheops beads are from the same batch but the SuperDuos look completely different even though the color name and number was the same. The SuperDuos in my bracelet are much darker than in the new bracelet.

WAVE OF LOVE EARRINGS
  • 11/0 seed beads Miyuki "Duracoat Galvanized Light Golden Bronze" (D4204)
  • 8/0 seed beads Miyuki "Duracoat Galvanized Light Golden Bronze" (D4204)
  • SuperDuo beads "Crystal Bronze Copper"

I made a pair of "Wave of Love" earrings to go with the new bracelet. You can download the free pattern HERE from MU at the Centperles Ateliers blog. It's difficult to see the link to the PDF file on that site. Move your cursor under the photo just below where it says "Schéma du motif Wave / Pattern (cliquez dessus)" and the link will become highlighted. Click where it says "wavemotif". That link will take you to the PDF file.

The bracelet pattern is from Marina Beads on Etsy and you can buy it HERE.

Here is a photo of the new bracelet and earrings set:

Tara Earrings - Chocolate Bronze

TARA EARRINGS
  • 15/0 seed beads Miyuki "Metallic Chocolate" (461)
  • 11/0 seed beads Miyuki "Metallic Chocolate" (461)
  • 8/0 seed beads Miyuki "Metallic Chocolate" (461)
  • 6mm 2-hole cabochons "Jet Bronze"
  • 2-hole Crescent beads "Oxidized Bronze Clay"

I used the same Crescent beads in this pair as I did in the last two since they were the only ones that I had enough of to make a complete pair. I prefer the lighter colored ones but these are pretty too. Maybe some day I will pick up some more Crescents and see what other color combinations I can come up with.

Tara Earrings - Chalk Lazure Blue II

TARA EARRINGS
  • 15/0 seed beads Miyuki "Dark Bronze" (457)
  • 11/0 seed beads Miyuki "Dark Bronze" (457)
  • 8/0 seed beads Miyuki "Dark Bronze" (457)
  • 6mm 2-hole cabochons "Chalk Blue Luster"
  • 2-hole Crescent beads "Oxidized Bronze Clay"

I've discovered that this pattern does in fact work great with Miyuki seed beads. I took apart the earrings that I blogged about yesterday and re-made them. This time I used Miyuki "Dark Bronze", which worked perfectly and I like them much better. I honestly don't know why I had a problem with them the first time because I didn't need to make any adjustments to the pattern. This pair came out a lot flatter than the pair with Toho beads and the bronze isn't as bright, which is a good thing as far as I'm concerned. I was going to show you the photo from yesterday's earrings next to today's but the differences aren't obvious enough in the photos.

I've got one more pair to show you tomorrow. I've run out of Crescent beads and I need to save the rest of my 2-hole cabochons for making bracelets.

Tara Earrings - Chalk Lazure Blue

TARA EARRINGS
  • 15/0 seed beads Toho "Antique Bronze" (223)
  • 11/0 seed beads Toho "Antique Bronze" (223)
  • 8/0 seed beads Toho "Antique Bronze" (223)
  • 6mm 2-hole cabochons "Chalk Blue Luster"
  • 2-hole Crescent beads "Oxidized Bronze Clay"

As you can see, I did buy some Crescent beads in another color and I like this pair of earrings even more than the first pair that I blogged about HERE. These Crescent beads are such a beautiful color that I couldn't resist buying them. I only wish that I could have used Miyuki "Dark Bronze" seed beads because I think they would go better with the color of the Crescents. I think that this bronze is a little too bright and yellowish. Maybe I will try and see if I can make Miyuki seed beads work with this design by adding extra beads. As I mentioned in my other post, I made the top part of my earrings differently than Ella does in the pattern.
