Bracelet of the Day: Bandwidth Bracelet - Turquoise & Gold

BANDWIDTH BRACELET
  • 15/0 seed beads Toho "Permanent Finish Galvanized Starlight" (557PF)
  • 11/0 seed beads Toho "Permanent Finish Galvanized Starlight" (557PF)
  • 8/0 seed beads Toho "Permanent Finish Galvanized Starlight" (557PF)
  • SuperDuo beads "Turquoise"

I'm always on the lookout for new ways to use SuperDuos and this simple yet stunning bracelet is just my style. It can look very dressy, like this bracelet, or you can make it very casual by using grungy Picasso SuperDuo beads like my little samples below. I will post more of these bracelets as I make them. As I often do, I did change the loop for the clasp. You can buy Angie's pattern at NannyPinksPassion on Etsy HERE.

UPDATE 7/24/2022: Angie Martin has closed her Etsy shop. I found this message on her Nanny Pink's Passion Facebook page:

"Shop is now closed.  If anyone is looking for any of my patterns, please send me a private message on my personal page  https://www.facebook.com/angie.martin.50"

  1. Totally beautiful. Are the seed beads a nice gold? They look like a nice pale gold in your picture. I dislike that awful yellow gold.

    1. They're a very bright gold and I don't like them very well. I bought them to make stuff for my sister-in-law. I'm finding it very difficult to match them with other beads. Most of the colors that I like just aren't bright enough to go with the gold seed beads. These SuperDuos were one of the few colors that went pretty well with them. The seed beads are so bright that they make other beads look very dull. It's really a challenge to work with them.

    2. Another thing is that they're Toho seed beads so I have to be careful which patterns I use them with. Also, I think that my camera washed out the color in the photos a bit. The color is more like the gold that you see on the magnet clasp that I used.

  2. Okay, thanks Linda. I don't care for the bright yellow gold.15/0 sometimes. Do you know of a nice gold that I could use or a colour that is similar to gold but not gold. LOL I don't understand myself sometimes.

    1. Not really. This was the goldest gold that I could find. I'd rather use bronze because it goes with pretty much everything. I have to say though that these seed beads are about the same color as some old pieces of metal costume jewelry that I have in my jewelry box. Oddly, the gold doesn't seem as bright on them even though they appear to be the same shade of gold when I hold the beads up to them.

  3. Beautiful! I love the colours you used. Never would have thought to put turquoise and gold together. I would automatically have chosen silver. Nice job!

    1. Thanks, Angie. I was trying to find bead colors that would go well with these bright gold seed beads. This is one of the few colors that I've got that do.
