I bought Sylvie Camps' "Epi De Blé Bracelet" pattern a while back but hadn't tried it yet. This morning I decided to give it a try using Silky beads in place of the Tila beads that the pattern calls for. As you can see, they work very well. This is one of those patterns where you make each component separately and connect them as you go. Although I typically would try to figure out a way to avoid doing that, in this case that works out perfectly. Otherwise you'd have to run your thread over the top and bottom of each of the Silky beads. You will need to do that only on the two Silky beads on the ends of the bracelet where the clasp loops are added.
If you try the pattern with Silkies, you will need to make one little tweak. Add an 11/0 seed bead just before each hole in the Silky beads. They help keep the points of the Silkies from bumping into the SuperDuos on the sides of each motif. Other than that, just make the pattern as directed. Once you get the hang of making the motif, the pattern is super easy. The bracelet is about 3/4-inch wide at the widest point.
You can buy Sylvie's pattern in her Peyote Bead Art Etsy shop, HERE.
UPDATE: The metallic bronze Silky beads are from GC Supplies Texas on Etsy, HERE. They are listed as "Metallic Brass Coated Sapphire". They look transparent when you hold them up to the light but they appear to be solid bronze in normal light. I have bronze SuperDuos that are like that too.
