Trestle Bands Update - New Clasp Loops

I think I've mentioned before that I make my clasp loops on Deborah Roberti's "Trestle Bands" bracelet a bit different than the pattern suggests. Well, I recently came up with a "New & Improved" clasp loop that I like much better. The new version also allows for adding jump rings to extend the length if necessary.

Here is a photo showing my previous clasp loops:

And here is a close-up of my new loop:

You can buy Deb's pattern HERE.

In case you've been wondering where I've been for so long, I was without my computer for almost two weeks and just got it back a few days ago. I had a lot of stuff to catch up on once I got my computer back. Plus, most of the beadwork that I've been doing lately is for Christmas presents and I don't want to post about them here and spoil the surprise. I will have quite a few projects to post after the holidays and I will try to post something now and then between now and Christmas.

  1. Hi Linda,
I love the new loop! Thanks so very much for your inspiration.
I missed you and glad to hear all is well. I was getting concerned
and was going to try and send you a FB or Pinterest message :)
Funny how the internet has changed our lives! It is crazy how the
end of the year and holiday time for those of us who make gifts
    is suddenly upon us...Thanks again,
    Linda from Georgia

    1. I use 8/0 seed beads for the jump rings, Beth. I can fit 4mm and 6mm jump rings through that size if they're a thin gauge wire. I have 8/0 seed beads in most of my "metal" colors and this is a great way to use them.

    2. If you take a look at this post, you can see an example where I connected the motifs if a bracelet with 6mm jump rings through 8/0 seed beads:

The first photo in that post has 4mm jump rings except on the ends. The second photo has 6mm jump rings between the motifs.

  4. I only just recently discovered your blog. In your absence I cruised through your blog entries from start to finish. I also checked out all of your listed resourses ( videos, blogs, and stores) I want to thank you for sharing all this information as it would have taken me months to find even half of that information. Your blog is truly a gift to someone just starting out in beading.
