Bracelet of the Day: London's Garden Bracelet

LONDON'S GARDEN BRACELET
  • 11/0 seed beads Miyuki "Dark Bronze" (11-457D)
  • 8/0 seed beads Miyuki "Hybrid Opaque Brown Picasso" (8-4517)
  • SuperDuo beads "Patina" (smooth, not tapered)

I tried a couple of different things with this free pattern, which you can download from Beads Magic HERE. First I tried making it with the more common tapered SuperDuo beads but the bracelet came out very stiff and awkward looking. Then, I remembered that I had almost the same color of a different kind of 2-hole beads that are also called Super Duos but they are smooth and oval-shaped. I gave those a try and they worked much better. I found mine at a local bead shop but you can also get them from Red Panda, HERE.

Here are my two samples and I think you can see how much neater the bottom one looks compared to the top one.

I wasn't happy with the 2-needle method for making the bracelet but I don't remember what bothered me about it other than that I don't enjoy that method much. However, I came up with a way to make it with one needle and the results were much nicer, I think.

    2. The link that I posted for the bracelet works fine right now. Are you unable to open that page? Maybe your browser is blocking it for some reason. The link to the home page is also working: http://beadsmagic.com/
