Bracelet of the Day: Crystal Flower Bracelet - Ivory

CRYSTAL FLOWER BRACELET
  • 15/0 seed beads Miyuki "Dark Bronze" (15-457D)
  • 11/0 seed beads Miyuki "Dark Bronze" (11-457D)
  • 4mm fire polished beads "Opaque Beige Luster"
  • 4mm bicones "Golden Shadow AB" #C25 (Beads One)

This is a Deborah Roberti creation which you can buy HERE. I made one small change to the pattern to the way that the clasp is added. Rather than making a loop of beads as directed by the pattern, I came out through a fire polished bead on the end, added 3 seed beads then the clasp. I went back through the last seed bead added and then added 2 more seed beads and went through the fire polished bead on the other side. Here is a close-up showing you how it looks:

  1. Very, very pretty! Funny, I was thinking of a similar pattern yesterday by Cristie Prince. Cristie, btw, is now with the Bead Mavens and I'm looking forward to her postings. I took 2 classes with her and made 2 of my favorite pieces. Love the colors you used!

  2. Hi Jeanie. Do you have a link to a site where I can see Cristie's beadwork? For some reason I didn't have Bead Mavens in my blog list here so I just added the link. I just found a tutorial there for making a Photo White Box. I might give that a try for my beadwork photos.

  3. You should sign up for the Bead Mavens email. They usually print patterns right in the email.Cristie's website is beadingjewels.com, but it isn't well maintained. If you do a google image search under her name, you can see a lot of her patterns. She only seems to sell high-priced kits at the moment. I never buy kits. I'll send you some photos with my next email.

    1. Did you mean www.glassyjewels.com? I tried the URL you posted and got "page not found". In any case, that one appears to be Cristie's site. I did try a Google image search for full her name earlier this morning and it gave me photos of anyone with Cristie, Sawyer or Prince in their names and nothing about her. I just tried again without "Sawyer" and got lots of hits for her beadwork. I saw this bracelet on Pinterest recently and it's one of hers: http://tinyurl.com/lc4ql8w I love the design.

    2. I found that pattern on Cristie's site and it's called "Maltese Bracelet". It says that it's $25 for the pattern but it's not available from her ordering page. In any case, that's more than I can afford for a pattern and then I'd have to buy those special beads. I may try to come up with something on my own that has a similar look to it but with some other kind of beads in the centers.
