Bracelet of the Day: Loretta - Deco Variation

LORETTA - DECO VARIATION
  • 11/0 seed beads Miyuki "Dark Bronze" (11-457D)
  • 8/0 seed beads Miyuki "Dark Bronze" (8-457D)
  • 4mm bronze druks
  • SuperDuo beads "Opaque Olive Bronze Picasso"
  • SuperDuo beads "Opaque Yellow Copper Picasso"
  • 4mm and 6mm jump rings
  • Lobster claw clasp
I was inspired by the bracelet that is posted on the Orsi gyöngyei blog HERE. She used the free Loretta Earring pattern posted HERE to make a bracelet by connecting the motifs with jump rings. I thought that was such a clever idea. It's a little tricky getting the bracelet size right so that there is always a center motif, but you can adjust the length by adding more jump rings on the ends. When I make variations of the Loretta pattern, I always either use five motifs or I add a couple of smaller motifs on the ends to extend the length.

UPDATE: The Loretta Earrings pattern is no longer free. You can buy the pattern at EwaHotBeads on Etsy HERE. Note that when you go to that page, you will see a different pair of earrings. Below the photo is a thumbnail of another variation. That is the version that I adapted to make this bracelet.

Here's an example where I inserted two small motifs on the ends:

You can also see that I added a bit of jump ring "chain" on the end of that one to make the size adjustable.

I made a few changes to the original pattern to make my "Art Deco" version. I used 4mm druks on the sides instead of fire polished beads and I omitted the two crosswise SuperDuo beads on the ends of the motif. Due to the change in bead sizes in my version, I eliminated the 15/0 seed beads used in the original pattern.

Here are the matching earrings:

    1. She's no longer giving that pattern away free. You have to buy it from her Etsy shop: https://www.etsy.com/listing/209261792/loretta-beaded-earrings-pdf-pattern?ref=shop_home_active_4

  4. Hello Linda i have been keeping an eye on the beautiful work that you do. I just love all of the Fall colors that you use. Do you sell the beads yourself or do you know where i can find the super duos at? My local store (The Bead Need) does not carry those beautiful colors. Lisa

    1. Hi Lisa. I buy most of my SuperDuos online. I don't remember exactly where I got the ones I used in this post but they're most likely from Aura Crystals, Aria Design Studio, Red Panda or Charlene's Beads. You can find links to all of those shops on the right hand side of the page.
